PAULINA PEREZALONSO H. (1995)

Paulina Perezalonso Hermosillo is a photographer born and raised in Mexico City. She graduated from a BA in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana, and specialized in Academic Research. Both her academic and artistic work address the analysis of visual messages, feminism and women.

Her career started with photographic coverage for social and cultural events like MICA Festival and KINOKI Festival, both in 2017. She worked as a freelancer doing product photography and fashion for small brands from 2019 to 2022.
Paulina was the assistant of photographer Álvaro Viesca (2020-2021) in the making of a classic cars' book.

Her artistic work became relevant in recent years. During 2020, her piece “Ainè” was part of the virtual international exhibition “Inhabit the Image” by Karne Kunst in Berlin. Such photograph belongs to her self portrait series “Not all darkness is complete absence of light” through which Paulina questioned the limits of her depression and the process to overcome it. In 2024 the project CANAL received a scholarship from Fundación Museo JUMEX to study her Master's Degree.
